Parker 2050 Comprehensive Plan

The Town is excited to share the Parker 2050 Comprehensive Plan Community Engagement Summary, which highlights what we’ve heard from residents, businesses, and community partners from January through August 2025. This report captures key themes, ideas, and priorities gathered through surveys, open houses, focus groups, and other engagement opportunities.

This feedback is helping guide how Parker grows, preserves its character, and plans for future needs. The outreach summary reflects the community’s vision and will serve as a foundation for the next steps in updating the Plan.

Town staff and project consultants will present a progress update on the Parker 2050 Comprehensive Plan at the Sept. 8 Town Council Study Session.

Did you miss Open House #1 in July at the Parker Fieldhouse? No problem! You can review the informational boards that were at the Open House and take part in the following activity to provide your input. (This activity has closed.)

The Parker Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee welcomed the comprehensive plan project team to attend their monthly meeting on April 2. The consultant team shared a presentation introducing the group to the plan update process and data collected through research and early engagement efforts. A facilitated group exercise focused on areas of opportunities for economic development and growth. The meeting presentation can be found in the Document Library.

Engagement Updates

You’ve spoken and we are listening! Here is a snapshot of some key themes we’ve seen across our engagement efforts so far.

Community Survey

• Of 390 total responses, 95% of respondents live full time in Parker.
• The community described life in Parker as an ideal place for families to grow and thrive while surrounded by beautiful, natural features. And we can’t forget about a strong sense of community!
• Responses shared a significant desire to see a thoughtful approach to development that prioritizes the well-being of residents, while maintaining the town’s hometown feel and avoiding the issue of traffic congestion.
• Responses highlighted appreciation of Parker’s parks, open spaces, and trails - with a strong desire to maintain and enhance these areas while continuing to add more.
• Housing affordability was a top concern we heard from the community.
• People love Parker’s unique small-town charm!

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. Your responses are helping to shape the future of Parker!

We hosted our first engagement event on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Parker Ice Trail at Discovery Park! The event was used to promote our Parker 2050 Comprehensive Plan Survey and hear first-hand from residents what their vision is for the future of Parker. Print and digital copies of the survey were made available as well as engagement activities for adults and children. The survey results and information gathered at this event will begin to help inform Parker's community values and sentiments around various planning topics. The survey closed Feb. 5.
