Project Overview

The Town’s Comprehensive Plan (The Plan) is a roadmap for our community, guiding us on how to grow and develop in the future. It helps us make decisions about things like land use, infrastructure, and protecting the environment. We’re excited to introduce the Parker 2050 Comprehensive Plan! This is a substantial update to our current plan, Parker 2035 Changes and Choices.

Parker 2050 will outline the aspirations, hopes and plans of the community to shape growth and development for the next 20 years and beyond. It will review and refresh the Town’s goals to provide clear guidance and create a realistic vision for the future of our community which will guide zoning decisions, capital projects, and the review of private development proposals.

This project is anticipated to be completed by early 2026, approximately an 18-month process.

  5. Master Plan Vision and Guiding Principles

  12. Transportation
  13. Public Service and Facilities
  14. Natural Resource Protection
  15. Open Space and Recreation

Project Approach

Town leadership is committed to managing growth in a way that balances essential elements of our community. We want to enhance the quality of life for everyone by fostering a healthy local economy, offering diverse housing options, preserving our beautiful open spaces, creating more recreational opportunities, and ensuring reliable and quality transportation choices. In addition, growth management efforts must also be sensitive to the rights of private property owners who desire to develop their property — if it complies with zoning and development design standards.
