Are there any noise restrictions on groups using public spaces at certain times? For example loud music with base at 8am on Sunday morning that I can hear inside my house in Rowley Downs while my family is sleeping. Yes, I’m talking about the church that is (renting?) that space.

Rowley Downs Home Owner asked 7 months ago

Thank you for your question and we apologize for the delay in response. The Town's noise ordinance, which outlines restricted times and activities, can be found at the following link: https://library.municode.com/co/parker/codes/municipal_code?nodeId=TIT6HESA_CH6.03NORE_6.03.020DE

    Thank you.

I believe that for our police department needs some type of should sleeve patch. The uniform is a representation of just the badge. Like with others LEO offices some have them most have them. For the town will speak volumes of having a town of Parker police dept having a the patches on both sleeves or along with a reversed US flag. The all dark blue seems so simple and too generic for anyone to copy.

Thank you for your email. We have passed this suggestion on to our Police Department.

I hear Trader Joe’s is coming near Costco? Is this true? When?

    Bagoss1523 asked 4 months ago

Thank you for your question! Trader Joe’s has submitted an application for a Fermented Malt Beverage License for 18374 Cottonwood Drive, Suite 150 in Parker. On Dec. 17, the Special Licensing Authority set petitioning boundaries and a public hearing date. The public hearing for the liquor license will be held Feb. 18. 2021 at the Special Licensing Authority meeting. This project is very early in the approval process.

What is the population figure at full capacity build out and how long to reach that #? Thanks

    Traildog55 asked 6 months ago

We estimate the Town’s current population at 57,538. The 2020 U.S. Census will release initial data in mid- to late 2021, so we will have an actual, official population count at that time. Our future population estimate based upon residential build-out at an undetermined point in the future is 80,000 to 85,000.   This assumes that all currently approved residential development projects and vacant land zoned for housing is built to the maximum allowed by Town approvals/zoning, a 3.5% housing vacant rate and a 10% adjustment for declining household size as the Town’s population ages. Please remember that this is a projection and the only thing we know is that the actual population at build-out will be different.

The future development build-out of the Town is likely 20-30 years out, but this cannot be accurately estimated because it is driven by the economy, housing market and private property owner/private sector investment decisions over which the Town has little to no influence.

Is there a sales tax on new vehicles that Parker collects and is there a annual use tax on vehicle?

    Traildog55 asked 7 months ago

The Town of Parker collects sales tax on the purchase of a new or used vehicle if the owner of the vehicle is a Parker resident (or business). If Parker sales tax is not collected by the motor vehicle dealer, then the Parker Use tax is collected by Douglas County at the time of registration. The sales/use tax is a one-time charge; there is no annual use tax.

With all of the growth in Parker, has there been any consideration about the increase in noise pollution in the town? There are so many illegal motorcycles/trucks/sports cars that produce a significant level of noise that can cause stress to people and animals.

    Parkerite2007 asked 8 months ago

Hello, Parkerite2007. The Town is aware of the issue with noise impacts and receives complaints from time to time that we evaluate under the municipal noise ordinance.  We have recently determined that the noise ordinance needs to be updated and are in the process of selecting an acoustic/sound consultant to assist us with this process.  The goal is to update the noise ordinance to more effectively address certain nuisance and quality of life issues.  The Town will provide more information later this fall about this project and potential meetings of the Planning Commission and Town Council related to it.

I recently received the postcard, "Stay Involved with Your Town". When I saw the fireworks display being advertised for Sept. 13, I knew it was too good to be true, so I went to the Events url and sure enough, it was canceled already. I wish the postcards could have been modified, etc. before being sent out. It was especially tough getting our hopes dashed so soon after the 4th of July cancellation.

    ladinco asked 8 months ago

Hello, ladinco. We apologize for the confusion. This new planned fireworks event was not canceled until the Governor issued his statewide fire ban on Aug. 19, which was about a week after we had already set out this postcard to our vendor to be printed and mailed. Since we anticipated that unexpected changes to our future events might be possible, we made sure to include the URL link to help keep our residents updated. We're glad that the URL idea worked and you were able to get the most updated information.

Hello, Can you provide more information on the development that appears to be going on at Stroh road, west of the Crowfoot Avlley/Mostesebocker intersection? I see lots of bulldozer activity and it looks like Stroh road may be getting extended to the west but I have not been able to find any information about this on the Parker Capital Improvements page. If it is being extended, I was curious how far, possibly even a new connection to Hess road south of the reservoir or maybe even a new exit from I25?

    DoCoresident asked 9 months ago

Hello DoCoresident. Construction in that area is related to the future Hess Ranch and Anthology North developments in the southwest area of Parker. Chambers Road will be extended south and connect to Crowfoot Valley Road south of the Hess Ranch development, which is also south of Stroh Road. Stroh Road will be extended west to connect to Chambers Road.

It has been stated by numerous sources, that Parker Town Members enjoy fringe benefits from the Tailgate, in exchange for giving the Tailgate total immunity to play music at any level they wish (No decibel level parameters, and no police involvement even when complaint calls are placed), 7 days week 7am-10pm.

    Christineschrader asked 9 months ago

Hello, Christineschrader. The Town of Parker has a noise ordinance that provides standards for addressing sound, including amplified music, and limits when amplified music may be played by time of day (only between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.).  The Town’s noise ordinance does not regulate sound, including amplified music, by decibel level at present.  The Town is considering amending the noise ordinance to incorporate decibel level standards and is in the process of researching how this may be accomplished.
