Consultation has concluded

On June 5, 2020, Governor Polis issued an Executive Order allowing restaurants to gain temporary approval from State and local licensing authorities to modify their licensed premises to include outdoor dining areas within 1,000 feet of the restaurant, and also allows for the consumption of alcoholic beverages on a public right of way that has been authorized by ordinance, resolution, or rule adopted by a municipality, city and county, or county. The purpose of the order is to extend outdoor dining areas to allow for restaurants to serve more people in as safe and easy manner as possible. In response, the Parker Town Council is considering creating a largeroutdoor dining area in downtown Mainstreet, by closing down Mainstreet from Pilgram’s Place to Victorian Drive on the East end of Mainstreet and a small portion of Pikes Peak Drive that would mirror the Farmer’s Market closures already taking place on Sundays. Closure would begin at 2:00 P.M. on Friday and continue through early (5:30 A.M.) Monday morning. Pedestrian access to businesses adjacent to Mainstreet would still be available. We are conducting a very short survey to inform Council of the level of support for the proposal. An outline of the closure area is attached in the documents area as well as copies of the Governor’s orders. Please assist us by responding to the quick poll before close of business Friday, June 12, 2020. Our goal is to provide feedback to Council on June 15 during the Council meeting. Closure would begin 5:00 A.M. on Saturday and continue through Sunday afternoon at 1:30 P.M. Pedestrian access to businesses adjacent to Mainstreet would still be available. The number of Saturday closures is yet to be determined. We are conducting a quick poll to inform Council of the level of support for the proposal. An outline of the closure area is attached in the documents area as well as copies of the Governor’s orders. Please assist us by responding to the quick poll by Sunday, June 14, 2020.
