What makes a good downtown?

The My Mainstreet project is a community effort to find consensus on the types of growth that can be expected on four lots in downtown Parker. Over the past few weeks, we've been learning what elements make a good downtown. Below is a list that we've generated from our research:

KEY ELEMENTS OF A GOOD DOWNTOWN

1. Mixed uses, including professional office space, mixed-use residential, restaurants, retail, and other shops.
2. Places to live and stay including lofts, upper floor housing, and hotel accommodation.
3. Active ground floor uses that include art galleries, restaurants, breweries and other retail shops.
4. Attractive, interesting and safe public realms for visitors to gather in. 
5. Branding that helps visitors identify the downtown space.
