Consultation has concluded
The Town of Parker's Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department is seeking residents' feedback about the use of E-Bikes on Parker's trails. There are no national laws regarding the use of e-bikes on trail systems. However, Colorado and several other states have placed them into three (3) distinct categories and leaves the decision as to whether to allow e-bikes on trails up to local municipalities. Parker does not currently have any ordinance which either allows or prohibits e-bikes on the trail system.
Many Colorado communities, including our neighbors to the North and South ( Douglas County and Arapaho County) either allow class 1 and 2 e-bikes or have launched pilot projects to allow both class 1 and 2 e-bikes. Because many of Parker's trails connect to these jurisdictions, e-bike users are likely already using the trail system in Parker.
Parker is currently researching e-bikes as well as how surrounding jurisdictions are handling the use of these bikes on their trail systems. We want to hear your feedback, concerns and input regarding how you think the addition of e-bikes has or will affect trail use and the experience of trail-users. Hello, Blaine. Only class 1 and 2 e-bikes are allowed on Parker trails. These bikes are pedal assist only. Class 3 e-bikes are not allowed on Town of Parker trails.

Hello, Rahul. By Colorado state law, electric bicycle and electric scooter riders are exempt from motor vehicle registration and license requirements.
