Challenge 14: Complete a Body Composition Assessment

This cutting-edge technology utilizes harmless infrared light to precisely measure body fat percentages and create a detailed 3D image of your body, including key measurements like waist, hip, chest and arms from over 600 circumference measurements. The 3D body scanner can also perform postural analysis, bone density and mineral assessment and offers progress tracking for each individualized scan to show before and after transformations.
You can now schedule a Body Composition Assessment with a certified personal trainer. Assessment and analysis of results are included for $75 for Parker residents and $83 for non-residents. Existing personal training clients can add a Body Composition Assessment for $60 for Parker residents and $66 for non-residents.

Parker Parks and Recreation will recognize the month with select outdoor Group Fitness classes. Locations include Discovery Park, the outdoor area of the Recreation Center and aqua classes at H2O’Brien Pool! Find classes, dates and times on the Group Fitness Class schedule.
The annual Duck Hunt activity will be July 15 through 19 along the Cherry Creek Regional Trail between the Parker Recreation Center and Parker Fieldhouse. Find a duck and return it to the Fieldhouse to collect a prize!

The first 250 cyclists will also receive a custom Parker Bike To Work Day t-shirt!
The Parker station will be open along the Cherry Creek Trail, just east of the USMC CPL David M. Sonka Dog Park, 17855 Pine Lane, from 6 to 9 a.m.

Concerts take place Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Discovery Park, 20115 E. Mainstreet, through Aug. 1. No concerts will be held on June 13 or July 4.
• Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away! Routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Several classes are offered by Parker Recreation each week with dates and times on the Group Fitness Class schedule.
• Adult and youth dance classes in many styles and experience levels are hosted by Parker Arts throughout the year.

• Group Fitness Classes: More than 100 classes, including cycling, boot camp and yoga are offered each week and are included with a Parks and Recreation membership or daily admission.
• Personal Training: Our team of nationally certified personal trainers is qualified to maximize your fitness potential while minimizing potential for injury. Many trainers specialize in specific areas of fitness, including Pilates, yoga, triathlon coaching, sports conditioning and senior weight training.
• Adult and Youth Sports: Parker Recreation offers more than 30 early childhood, youth and adult sports leagues through the year.
- Mini Mite and Kinder Leagues (ages 3 to 6) are designed to instill a love of sports into our youngest players. Leagues focus on building skills, learning to work as a team and having fun!
- Youth Leagues (ages 6 to 18) focus on further skill development, rules, game strategies and sportsmanship.
- Adult Leagues (ages 18 and older) include coed and men’s divisions providing a recreational atmosphere for the lifelong athlete.

• Senior Stroll: To celebrate National Senior Health & Fitness Day, Parker Parks and Recreation hosts the annual Senior Stroll. This free event, with reservation required, features a one-mile fun walk on a paved trail, delicious refreshments, socializing with friends, exciting prize giveaways and interacting with local business vendors that put an emphasis on senior health and wellness. This year’s event will begin at 9 a.m. May, 29 at Salisbury Park, 11920 Motsenbocker. Please RSVP on the event webpage.
• Parker Recreation Active Older Adult Programs: Parker Recreation strives to meet the needs of our rapidly-growing older adult population and promotes healthy lifestyles through innovative programs and activities. This includes discounted memberships and passes, the SilverSneakers and Renew Active programs, fitness equipment orientation, and several fitness and wellness classes.

Located between Parker Town Hall, 20120 E. Mainstreet, and the PACE Center, 20000 Pikes Peak Avenue, this fitness park includes a collection of equipment focused on cardiovascular, flexibility and strength training.
Look for the sign closest to the trail for exercise diagrams for each station.

To help you get ready for this special day, did you know more than 95 percent of Parker residents live within a 10-minute walk to a park, trail and/or open space? The Town currently maintains more than 398 acres of Town-owned and proposed parkland, 41 miles of concrete and soft surface trails, 14 parks and 1,144 acres of open space.
That means there’s plenty of areas to explore and enjoy in your own backyard and across the community.

• Nutrition/Dietitian Consultation: One-on-one nutrition consultations with our Licensed Dietitian and/or Certified Nutrition Specialists include a review of the client pre-questionnaire, and a discussion about any nutrition-related concerns, health challenges and goals. Whether it’s for medical purposes, performance, or simply a healthier lifestyle, these consultations will provide professional advice about your nutritional needs and set you on the right path to achieve your goals. Cost: $46 Parker Resident (R)/$51 Non-resident (NR) per 60-minute session
• Meal Planning Session: With the help of That Clean Life cutting-edge software, a nutrition professional will provide you with a detailed, 14-day, fully customized meal plan, based on calories, macros and all diet types. Nutrition team members consider your eating likes and dislikes, allergies or food sensitivities, medical conditions, and overall health and wellness goals to ensure that you are nutritionally balanced and taken care of! Along with your 14-day meal plan, you will receive the corresponding grocery list and a food tracking tool to follow your progress and help hold you accountable. Meal Planning Sessions are a great addition to the Nutrition/Dietitian Consultation or can be purchased separately. • Parker Recreation Cookbook: Take the guesswork out of delicious nutrition with the Parker Recreation Cookbook. Created by a team of a Certified Nutritionist, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a Certified Professor of Sport Sciences, the cookbook provides 30 full days of meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and desserts. The recipes were created to be quick, cost-conscious and nutritious, with the appropriate blend of calories, carbs, fats and proteins, which are listed for tracking.
