almost 3 years agobannon3almost 3 years agoA Follow Up on Additional Dining and Retail Options: No more large, national/regional chains
Successful retail is all about creating a sense of place where people want to come and spend time, hang out, etc. in addition to eating, shopping, etc. Generic, boring, low end chains that are all over Parker do nothing to create a sense of place. For the reimagination of downtown Parker to be successful and a place where people want to come and spend time, there need to be unique shops and restaurant concepts with great environments (including outdoor dining). The Tailgate, Chick-Fil-A, Freddy's, etc. are not the answer.

Now that Parker has an overabundance of apartments, our hometown is way overcrowded. Apartments provide high-density living which ruins quality of life, especially in the way of traffic and pollution. The reckless building of new apartments has no end in sight and eventually, the entire town will suffer from this uncontrolled growth. Please protect Parker by putting an end to the constant building of high-density apartment buildings. Parker has just about lost its hometown feeling. Now is the time to act before it is lost forever.

I bet more folks would visit Parker to walk our mainstreet and indulge if those vans ran every 20 minutes from 6:30am to midnight or so.

I think E-470 between Parker Road and I-25 should be free for Parker residents. I would assume that quite a few people that live in Parker use I-25 north or south to get to their job on a daily basis. With all the new housing that is going in inside of Parker and all the new housing that is planned along Hess and Ridge Gate Parkway it is starting to become a mess for Parker residents to just be able to get to work. This would free up those roads for more residential traffic by offloading it to E-470 which is where it should belong. This would also help out other commuters on I-25 by routing traffic around that terrible interchange that is always a mess because residents would not stay on I-25 all the way to Lincoln or RidgeGate Parkway or Hess. With all those new developments going in along those major East West routes I would think that there should be more than enough money from fees or new taxes on those houses and developments that it should be more than enough to cover the expense. It is also probably cheaper to just pay those fees than build out all new infrastructure. I don't know if there are any tax incentives that we provide to the company that owns E-470 but maybe we could utilize those as well to drive down the price.
