Are you curious about how the Town of Parker works and how you can play a bigger role in your community? Whether you're a resident, business owner, or work in the Town, the newly revamped Civic Academy is your chance to get involved, get informed, and make a lasting impact, and now, you can earn your Passport to Civic Engagement along the way!

Civic Academy returns this fall with fresh energy and exciting opportunities to connect with Town leaders, learn about local services, and gain a behind-the-scenes look at how Parker runs. Best of all — it’s free to participate!

What’s Included in the Civic Academy Experience?

Over the course of three core activities, you’ll explore how your local government works, meet the people behind the services you use every day, and gain the knowledge needed to become an active, informed member of your community. With each activity, you'll earn a stamp in your Passport to Civic Engagement. Collect all three and receive your official recognition as a Town Civic Ambassador!

But the journey doesn't end there. The Civic Ambassador Holiday Social will give you an opportunity to celebrate your achievement and explore new avenues for ongoing involvement, helping you continue to make a lasting impact in Parker.

• Civics Seminar
  • Thursday, Aug. 21 | 5 to 8 p.m. at The Schoolhouse
  • Start your Civic Academy journey with a deep dive into how Parker’s government works, why it matters, and how you can get involved. Enjoy dinner and networking with Town staff and elected officials from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by the seminar. This is the first step in your path to becoming an informed community leader.
• Parker Proud Showcase (Town Services Fair)
  • Saturday, Sept. 20 | 12 to 4 p.m. at O’Brien Park
  • Meet the teams that keep the Town running! This fun, interactive event is your one-stop-shop to learn about Town services, ask questions, and engage directly with departments and elected officials. It’s the perfect opportunity to earn your second passport stamp while connecting with fellow residents.
• Town Council Meeting & Recognition
  • Monday, Oct. 20 | 7 p.m. at Town Hall
  • Witness local democracy in action by attending a live Town Council meeting. During this event, you’ll be formally recognized by the Mayor and Town Council for your commitment to civic engagement and receive your third and final passport stamp, completing your Civic Academy journey.
• Town Civic Ambassador Holiday Social
  • Wednesday, Dec. 3 | 5 to 6 p.m. at Town Hall
  • Celebrate completing your Civic Academy journey and become part of an exclusive group of Town Civic Ambassadors! This event provides continued opportunities for networking, learning, and involvement. As an Ambassador, you’ll have access to new civic engagement opportunities, special tours, Town updates, and event invitations, helping you stay connected and engaged.

Who Can Participate?

Civic Academy is open to anyone who:

• Is 18 or older
• Lives, works in, or owns a business in the Town of Parker
• Can attend all four program activities listed above
• Is excited to be a part of Parker’s future!
