The Town continually strives to accommodate all modes of travel and users, including children, people with disabilities and older adults. Parker’s current roadway designs already take into consideration many elements of Complete Streets such as sidewalks and bike lanes. Complete Streets make it easy to cross the street and walk or bike to school, shops or work within the Town.
While our roadways serve many purposes – some serve many roles while others serve only a few. The purpose of Complete Streets is to consider these context-based roles and design accordingly.

Nationally, Complete Streets policies consider the relationship streets have with the transportation network and surrounding context, flexibility in street design, and often balance priorities. Complete Streets are not a one-size-fits-all, nor is it a singular design prescription, however, they share the following principles:
Complete Streets serve users of all ages and abilities and choice of travel mode
Complete Streets emphasize safety and comfortability for all users
Complete Streets are part of a connected multimodal transportation network
Complete Streets are context-sensitive to the surrounding environment
